Newport 2004

Prime promoted a mega event at Newport on December 29th 04 this winter- we had over one hundred riders at the event. The event was split in two with Women and Youths working on skills
for the first hour and three quarters, followed by Seniors and any Women who wished to continue.

We used Derny's for through and off and Keirins, in a varied programme to suit all tastes.

I know to see some of the "Dad's" riding and thoroughly enjoying themselves was an absolute delight for the Coaches.

Fortunately there were enough hire bikes to go round on the day, and we had some offers to improve matters in future from the Velodrome- they hadn't seen anything like the numbers on a training session before.

I believe from the comments on the day the vast majority of people enjoyed the day, a long hard day for us, but the rewards were well worth the effort.
